Martin Kers rose to fame thanks to his detailed landscape photography, in which the Dutch river landscapes played the leading part. Gradually, he focused on other themes as well, and increasingly assignments brought him to foreign countries. His work covers dozens of countries and was published in leading journals such as National Geographic, Holland Herald, Avenue and Elegance. Kers published a great number of books, among them Landschappen in Nederland (Landscapes in the Netherlands), Europese kusten (European coasts) and De mooiste treinreizen (The World’s Finest Railway Journeys). Furthermore, he did a lot of corporate photography, both in the Netherlands and abroad, for leading companies such as Ballast Nedam, Boskalis, Eurail, Delfluent and Dekker Van de Kamp.
