Men drinking beer at a pub
Netherlands, Amsterdam. Men drinking jenever in one of the oldest cafe's of Amsterdam named 'In 't Aepjen' (in the monkey) at the 'Zeedijk' street, which was on old sea dyke. It is based in one of the two remaining late-medieval wooden houses in Amsterdam. The cafe owes its name from the fact that one of the former owners had also monkeys, imported from the East meegekomen. Those monkeys were of course the necessary burden of vermin, with the result that the guests of this Inn also had problems with itching. Here comes the expression "in the aap gelogeerd" (stayed in the monky) away.
